Player on a 3.0 team that had a DQ at sectionals. That ruling spoiled the weekend for us as well as our opponents from Gainesville. I do not intend to play on an adult league next season due to that and similar situations regarding playoffs and the inequities in the rating system.

This happened to my partner at Sectionals. They took away our first day's wins, after we won our match on the second day - in effect DQ'ing me too. The ratings SHOULD NOT be run until AFTER the tourney is completed!!

It is unfair to DQ a player that has a computer generated rating without visual confirmation from a verifyer that the player is playing out of level. Also, it should be done prior to Sectionals.

Being rated by the tennis Professional is the only fair way.

As a national verifyer in Texas, I am familiar with players playing out of level; however, I found it unfair to DQ my wife's teammate, in the 2006 Florida Sectionals. She played in level and was in level when DQed. It is unfair to reverse the wins her team had received in Sectionals.

Former Captain, Player. I have not agreed with the concept of computer ratings from the start. It gives previously un-rated players the opportunity to play at NTRP levels well below their actual ability until such time as the computer catches up with them. This gives major advantages to un-rated players and penalizes those of us who have gone through the true ratings program and who have tried to elevate their NTRP ratings but never get advanced because a computer can not actually watch an individual player and see their actual ability. Please eliminate Computer Rating System. It will never get ratings right.

It seems to me the "big picture" problem lies within the self rating system. Every self rated player should be visually verified during the regular season. Either at raring clinics or during matches. This might help to curb some of the "sandbagging" that goes on. Also all USTA tournament results should be used to form your dynamic rating.
